Hey all I have this crazy idea about recording game data to my site using a variable that's embeded on the site itself... First off is this even possible via stencyl games? And if so what would I have to do to get stencyl to send and retrieve data this way?

Yeah I could also use a hand with this.
Best to use some kind of encoding for sending info such as scores, even if it's only very simple. Just enough to obfuscate the info.

I have all the code for PHP for reading/info in Stencyl; it's pretty trivial. I'll try to make it public this week, but I can't promise; I've got a lot going on at the moment.

The problems i usually run into are because of music tracks (they can take some time to load and will pause the entire scene while loading) as far as why your problem is only with portrait I'm not sure...

Hey all, I have a question regarding image loading via API. Think of it in terms of atlasing.

If I want to load some images from file using the API, would these assets take up resource when not being used? Or do they only load when called out?
(I am trying to determine weather or not to import still background and other misc images this way so that I don't have to atlas them. I would rather not create an actor or brg image with one animation / frame if I don't have to but I  also don't want them to be loaded globally.)

If you want you can get creative and make an atlas manager behavior and a load screen (in addition to the preloader and do something like this.

(disregard the unknown custom blocks cause they belong to an additional behavior.)

(If you haven't tried this already)
Make a preloader scene then a behavior to load the atlases that are being used then switch to the first scene after loading. Next go into settings>atlases and tell the atlases not to load on startup then test it and let me know how it works.

(This is a temporary behavior but it does what it needs to for now.)
***Keep in mind that it may take a few seconds to load the atlases upon scene switch***

I'm not really sure how to use maps exactly but I have found a ton of uses for this behavior already but my game keeps track of like talents and ranks for those and things like health bar modes and can be used for seamless scene reloads (while unloading atlases that are no longer being used in the level) but anyway that's why I was asking cause I wasn't sure if I would be the only one to use it or not.

This is a data management tool.
Think of it almost like an internal attribute creator only with completely deletable variables. (these can be set and even set null)
It can handle both global and local data.

Take a look!

There is a list of custom blocks in the screen shot... somewhere. And there are getters to get both global and local lists included

And come to think of it I may be able to do the touch event in a similar way. I'll have to give it some thought...

That's a great  idea on the list, and many many things use that player Cblock from enemies to scenes i was just probably short cutting with the custom  has value blocks lol but thanks for the info.

The idea is to downsize my player functions so boss fights can be cool and have mechanics to follow and stuff.
Oh by the way I do appreciate all the help you've given me Justin, and thanks for being so patient as i have never taken any programming classes and am trying to learn on my own. (can't afford school) :)
