Shared Resources / Re: Better Results Here

So basically to clear this up, what I see is

When you press the punch button

if you are on the ground and facing right it will damage enemies--or whatever else you are punching--
OR if you are on the ground saying you are not facing right (you have to be facing left) it will damage enemies to the left.

I can Upload a demo with enemy and Kill tile place holders after I get my guy to punch.

so here you are saying you can kill tile place holders?  I do not understand this, sorry I can't help... but I tried, and good luck with this.

Ask a Question / Re: multiple random platform generation?

Oh, the game loaded and I have also noticed that it get literally impossible since you can only just one cloud higher each time and the screen moves slightly faster than you can.

Also you definitely need more detail if you expect to get any help with this, because I have no idea what you mean now that I see the game.

Ok so the game is not loading properly for me or it is taking a long time which probably has to do with my netbook and extremely crappy internet, but I would still like to attempt to help you even though I am not a stencyl guy, my brother is.  I would like to give a suggestion which I do not know if it is possible or not....

ok, so is it possible, maybe you could try deleting a previous tile if another one overlaps it?
Or maybe have a time limit where a different kind of tile generates?

There you have it... green guy wasn't lying...  We are working on a zombie game and it is going pretty well so far, but we need your feedback.  there are also pics in here and a few screen shots so if you're not interested in reading too much at least take a look at the pics.  Then maybe you'll be interested enough to try and read a little bit

this works like a charm!!! great addition to a game.  We would just like to see that it may have helped someone? if not then it may be a "renewal exclusive technique" (probably not, it just sounds cool)

Game Art / Re: Spriting Everything
« on: May 14, 2012, 05:45:11 pm »
Hey blob, I would just like to say that I have somewhat recently started to watch spriting everything.  I love it, I am only a few videos in right now but I will make sure I catch up then keep up.  You are doing great!!!! keep up the great work.

one major thing I have problem with is choosing colors for my sprites.  Any tips on choosing colors that look good?

thanks,
Skye

Lympha- thanks a bunch for all the criticism!  It really does help a lot, considering I am still extremely new at this spriting thing, it is what I need.  You can point out things that I overlook because I am the one who does it (which goes for tgbtom and greenguy who also do some).  sorry if it seems complicating, but it made sense in my head.

Anyways, this is a good list that I will be writting down in my book so that I always have something to improve :D

Great job noticing these things and even better job pointing them out.  In the end it helps you enjoy yourself, and helps us all make a better game.

I must ask, have you done any spriting jobs yourself?  You seem like you know what you are talking about.

EDIT: Yeah, the back button was taken from something in stencyl.  It is just temporary.

That's looking great, I love the cute style, mainly the regular zombies are a spot-on. The only thing that looks kinda ishy is the 'Gutted Zombie', even though it has to be skinny, it really takes away a lot of the cute style.
Further, I really like the level logo's, especially the square one.

All-in-all, good job on the graphics so far, looking forward to the screen-shots.

Hey, thanks for the criticism.  Oh, so you know, I am one of the artists.  I am not that great at it I am just trying to learn but I think I am picking up some good techniques and yes the gutted zombie is a big work in progress.  I think it will look cool I just need to figure out how to keep the right look in it.
