Yay, I found a solution!

I thought, if the file isn't needed in the other version, I just try to delete it.

After deleting the file, and restarting stencyl, I got another error:

unable to load SWC ._playerglobal.swcThis file also doesn't exist in the other versions, so DELETE! :)

Then another error:
Code: [Select]
java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "./flash-10-linux" (in directory "ext-tools/players"): java.io.IOException: error=13, Permission deniedOk, so
Code: [Select]
chmod a+x ext-tools/players/flash-10-linux
And now it works :D

1. I used to have a custom workspace, but now I reinstalled and didnt change the workspace from the default. (That did help with the upgrade issue, but not with the preview issue.)

2. Of course...

I don't know if this helps, but I also tried the nightly build, and this one works fine.
And I noticed that my old version and the nightly build don't even have the file "._flex.swc", it only exists in 1.3.0/1.3.2, and there is fails to load.

Ok, I solved the upgrade issue. I think there was some problem with 1.3.0 and my old workspace folder. I installed 1.3.0 again, deleted my StencylWorks.pref, and now I could upgrade to 1.3.2.

But the preview is still not working, after a fresh install/upgrade  :'(

It says "unable to load SWC ._flex.swc", so I looked for the file.

It's there and the permissions should be fine.

This would react in so many bad ways with things like tell (behaviour name) to (text) and get (attribute) from (behaviour name).

Hm. That's true. The "tell"-block wouldn't be so much of a problem, it could just send the message (call the function) to each instance of the behavior.
But "get attribute from" would really be a big problem.

Duplicating and renaming is what I did as a workaround, but it really is not optimal. When you change one behavior a little bit you have to change the other as well everytime.

So attaching a behavior to an actor is like creating a variable with the same name as the behavior in the actor class? So let's say behavior B is a class called Design_300_300. When you attach it to actor A, actor A declares a varible of type Design_300_300 named B?

Wouldn't it be possible to just declase a second variable of type Design_300_300 named B_2 or something?

I read on the roadmap that stencylworks 2.0 is coming soon, and that it will have "Events".
I'm curious now :) what will these Events be? Maybe something similar as messaging (tell-when this hears)?

I know stencylworks 1.3 has just been released, so it still might be a while until 2.0 is coming... (Or is there any info on when it's going to be released)

I don't think it will work with opacity, you can create see-through effects with setting opacity but you cannot erase something.

You could have your clod of dirt consist of several actors, and using the shovel moves or kills one actor a time.

Or you could have one actor for the clod of dirt, with several animations, each animation is a little bit more "degraded" than the others. Then you would just switch animations when using the shovel.

Ok, I see.

One way how this bug could be fixed would be to have a default font in the library->fonts section, that is always there and cannot be renamed or deleted.
And selecting "default font" would not mean the font attribute is null, but select this always available font.

If the behavior is desired that you can select the current font, I think it would be good if you could select "current font", but wouldn't have to check for not null.

You could use flash.filter.ColorMatrixFilter to change the saturation and hue. For a whole screen effect, apply it to FlxG.buffer (just like the BlurFilter).

Ok, I didn't notice that the current font is global (shared between actors/behaviors).
So using "default font" really just means "use the last font that has been set or if no font has been set, use some kind of default font, which cannot be set manually, after a different font has been used". That's really not very intuitive.

I completely agree with you that "default font" should "just work".

But I have no idea why getting width/height with the default font doesnt work for you. For me it does.
