Those are good numbers! How long did it take you to learn stencyl?

Thanks for checking this out. I'm really happy that people can get some inspiration from it :)

I first picked up Stencyl around the end of 2013. I didn't really do much with it until I decided to become a game developer in March of 2014. From May to August of '14 I want busy taking care of family matters and couldn't do much game programming. So I don't know how much time you want to add for those four months.

Overall, I suppose it was 7 months - or 11 months if you count the hiatus in there - until I started making some money off of it. I am no where near saying that I have "learned Stencyl". Since I don't have a programming (or computers in general) background, there are many thing that go over my head.

July is looking good. I'll post the numbers next week.

Looking forward for this :)

Paid Work / Re: Cheap Advertising for Stencylers with @Apps_and_Game

I am actually getting ready to pay 5 dollars for a day of advertisement for saucer sammy, but as i look at there followers, there are a lot of accounts with no profile pic and no posts which means they are fake. i dont know if i should still do it or not?

hmmm thats weird indeed... i just looked at their list and noted that, evethough there are only few of them not many as you say... and there are still lot of people with common profiles.... i don't have much experience with instagram advertising,  but i guess ill try it my self in a week or so to see how it goes

I would love to use this although I see there is 18.4k, but y'all only get around 100+ likes on each picture.

hmmm idk much about marketing statistics and stuff, im only in charge of doing the arts for them... but is that rate bad?

I think ill do some investment when i finish the update of my app and see how it goes... by any case its not so much so won't hurt to test :P

Paid Work / Cheap Advertising for Stencylers with @Apps_and_Game

Heya guys, im here to share some news with you all.
I started working with a Marketing Company a month ago, and one of their branches does marketing services for Apps and Games developers, specially for Indies... They have a big community in Instagram with over 20.000 users, being one of the biggest Apps Page on Instagram, their page is called @Apps_and_Game.

I proposed to my Boss to do a special offer to Stencyl developers since im from this community and so on, I've found it usefull and could be useful for you guys as well, to shoutout about your games and projects... but more important than that, to do it CHEAPLY.

From my personal point of view as a Game Developer, I've found this Advertising option incredibly good for us around here, specially for mobile developers.... why?

-Instagram is a Mobile Social Network... This means if the user is checking the @Apps_and_Game page, and reading about your game, they are doing it through their mobile devices, and if they like your App they will directly download it since they have the device on hand! Its a different effect than getting the advertising while surfing on their PCs.... People are more likely to jump to the Appstores and get the app they just saw in the palm of their hands, even if its awesome or kinda good since there is no need of a big effort.

- Instagram is a combination of Visual and Textual Advertising (since you publish pictures and images) but also text and information can be added, so its a quick method to catch attention of any kind of public.... and you can even ask to publish videos of your app!

- Followers are from your niche.... This means that if you like a page on instagram, you click to "Follow that page", that way the 20k+ community they have on @Apps_and_Game are all people that are APP HUNGRY, they want to receive news about...well, apps and games to install them right away

- But the most important... Its economical dude.  When i was in my pursuit to advertise my game i found tough options, coming from 50$ to up to 500$ to get a featuring,  which is a hard investment when you are starting on this business, but this guys have friendly prices for developers, and much more with the nice discounts i proposed for our community, being as low as 5$ for publishing and talking once about your Product, and you can repeat it as many times as you might need, adapting your strategy to your budget since they show different prices and offers.

Their Instagram profile is: https://instagram.com/apps_and_game/

Feel free to contact them that way, or you can also get in touch with me, so i can propose your project to the Social Community Manager in charge of their App's Branch.

Hope this info is useful for you guys,  ill also keep you informed around here the following weeks!

Nice game, needs more instructions, I luckily discovered the bird was no background, too many adds, I would normaly uninstall because of adds alone, but click them to support a fello Stencyler!!! lol, way to go man!

thanks for the support mate!
there seems to be an issue with the ads shower, so they appear pretty randomly, im already working on it
I hope you find better the next version :)

Ask a Question / Re: To make Adroid version of a game from flash..
« on: May 27, 2015, 04:31:58 am »
The topic asks for android from flash, but inside the thread asks for iOS from windows? wtf
anyways, you can develop your iOS (and yes, android too) from windows.... the only problem is as @letmethink said, you might need a mac to publish to the App Store

Chit-Chat / Re: do you use/browse StencylForge?
« on: May 26, 2015, 05:15:29 pm »
no, not really, for me its pretty useless.... when i need something im stuck at i come to the forum or so. Ive only forced myself to go forge when i have a recommended behaviour saved there, so i browse for it with the name directly.... but i find forge pretty untidy or so
