When there is an important update like that, it would be nice to know about it and still better to know what bugs we are likely to find with previously working stuff, IMHO changing changing the way the initializing of maps has to be done is not small changes. I may be wrong, of course but I bet I am not the only to have scrutinize extensions we were safely using before.
