Ask a Question / Linear Gravity?

Hi,

I want to make a game where I can easily flip like gravity duck...however I want to make the player move faster when gravity flips, If I use the in-built gravity function, the actor moves up from slow to fast, is there any way I could make this linear, so he moves up at a constant rate?

Hi, I used an extension to grow/shrink actors.
I want to make an actor which grows while the mouse is pressed on it

I have the following code for the actor, sometimes when i run the program it works fine sometimes it works a bit then doesn't then works again.
Is there something wrong with my code?

I used the Scaling Utilities extension (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,34277.0.html)

Hi, this is probably an easily solvable issue but I'm not sure how to do it:

I have a spaceship actor moving around the scene, it moves at a constant speed, initially upwards,
and when the user presses the right side of the screen, the actor will turn right, and if the left side is pressed, it will turn left.

The camera follows the actor around a large space

I am not sure how to make this in stencyl

I want to create an endless game(portrait) where the player continues to move up. However, I want to incorporate some features which would make it difficult to use the standard template for a endless (with the actor fixed at the bottom, and obstacles moving down).

Is  it possible, to have a scene in which the actor is actually moving up, with the camera following, and the parts of the scene be removed when it exits the bottom of the screen?

If someone could help me think of a way to design the game I could provide more details, but i'd prefer to do it in private

Hey, I am trying to make a behaviour for an actor which causes the actor to move up or down a certain y value if the user swipes the actor up or down.

I currently have this code which does not work
There will be multiple actors on the screen, so it is important the user swipes from the actor it wants to move

Any help will be appreciated!

I have an actor moving across the screen (x-speed = 10) from left to right.

I want the actor to be able to have its y-position change if the user presses on the actor and keeps his finger on the screen (doesn't have to be on the actor). I also want the actor to maintain its speed.

I currently have the following code, which causes the game to freeze if i click on the actor.

Any help will be appreciated!

AdMob / AdMob for Android

I would just like to know, if I have done "show ad" on one scene, will i need to do it again when I switch scenes, or does "show ad" keep the ads up til the app is closed?

EDIT: I found a weird glitch, when I open my app, if i leave it open the AdMob Ad will not show, however if I switch to multitask and go back to the app, the Ad is there. Not really sure how to deal with this

Dear all,

I would like to ask what is the best way to create an in game menu, which overlays the scene(which is still running). For example the menu contains buttons which may go to further menus such as settings --> sound. What is the best way to create such a menu? Is it using buttons or is there a better way?

Resolved Questions / spawning off screen

I am currently creating a sidescroller with objects spawning off the screen at the right and coming in. Right now i am using a scene behaviour which spawns the object at a "x" and "y" off the screen. But they don't seem to be spawning. Is this because you cannot spawn objects off the screen? The object spawns if i change the x and y coordinates to one that is on the screen

Dear all,

I am currently trying to create a game similar to Jetpack Joyride (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGxIpzzLo4k)

I am trying to make the actor move up when the user touches the screen and make the actor naturally fall down similar to the game. I am doing this using "pushing gently" when going up and setting gravity in the game to make the actor fall down when the user is not touching the screen.

However is there a way to enable the actor to "overcome" the gravity when i accelerate upwards as it seems to take a while when i attempt to accelerate upwards as it has to counteract the gravity.

Any help will be appreciated and sorry for the bad explanations as this is my first post in ages and i'm quite new.

Hey guys,
Basically I want to make when two actors collide, the user touches the screen at the same time, and one actor disappears.

This is the behaviour i have on the actor that disappears:

when this collides with something else,
   if <touched self>
   kill <self>

Some examples can help
