Ask a Question / Re: Anchoring actor 1 to actor 2
« on: June 30, 2017, 08:01:53 am »
Nope, the actor begins on screen.

5 - Probably some bug in html5 then.

Just noting there are a few problems with the game itself,

1. There are a few bugs with a extension you are using ( socket server?).
2. There is a null error in one of your actor events or behaviors.
3. You referenced Actor "car_01 27" as a actor type in some code.
4. The platform requires OGG sounds: Racing Intermission Loop Upbeat, Import your sounds as OGGs

This is what  caused the break ( html5):

Error: Resource file not found : Config/preloader-badge.txt,
For some reason Stencyl is having a problem with your custom preloader, try removing it.

Stencyl logs also report there  are actor/actor type related bugs to  Actor "mechant 8".

I'm not understanind your issue. You can't open the game? Or you can't test the game?

Here are the bugs I found in your logs that might be preventing it in testing stages:
Code: [Select]
SceneEvents_1: Cannot add listener function to null actor ( in other words, you left a selection out )
Check though all your scene events. You probably made a mistake there.

Please attach your full logs.

From your logs it seems you are not logged in correctly. Try signing out and then re-signing in to the Stencyl application.

Interesting, you mean like instead of anchoring the 1st actor, just move it based on the cam or mouse position?

Anyone have any suggestions?

I think I figured it out, why this way won't work. The coords don't change when a actor is anchored, it is just a screen trick. Stencyl looks at is as if the actor is still in its original place, hasn't moved. I know this because I coded the game to post the current coords to the console of the anchored actor every 1 second. The coords haven't changed even when I scroll and it looks like the actor is moving. That explains why the second actor wasn't moving. Because the first actor coords have not changed.

Now I need a new way to do this.
Try doing it yourself, it won't work.

Still not working. The anchored actor works fine ( using anchor behavior) however the second actor ( the actor that is being double anchored ) still isn't moving.
