Hi there, back in 2013 I announced here was avaible at FGL.com as a webgame for publishers to bid, unfortunately I didn't receive any good bid for the game and Stencyl upgraded, so I decided to make a mobile game, it gave me much more work than I expected, now after almost 2 years and a half (working in the game along with my full time job) it's finally launched to  iOS and Android. Please take a look =)

AdMob / Using iAds banners with AdMob Interstitial, any problem? (Solved)
« on: November 02, 2014, 05:34:47 am »
Hello there! I was here wondering....

For what I've read in stencylpedia, and in the blocks on Stencyl, Stencyl doesn't have support to iAds Interstitial/FullScreen Ads or did I miss something?

If thats right, for the countries that support iAds, is there any known problem to initialize AdMobs full screen Ads and use iAds banners together? Or do I have to choose only one of them?

Thanks in advance! =)

AdMob / Do Interstitial need to be reloaded after shown? (Solved)
« on: October 26, 2014, 12:36:32 pm »
Hi there! Are they needed to be reloaded after shown?

You know... I loaded a fullscreen banner, then used the "show fullscreen ad" block. The ad was shown. If i want to show it again, do I have to downloaded it again? I made some tests here but because of connection speed issues I'm really not sure if it is needed or not.

Thanks!

Suggestion Archives / Mochimedia CPA ADs
« on: August 26, 2013, 01:10:11 pm »
Mochimedia has openned the third summer contest but unfortunatelly once more I can`t participate as I don`t know how to implement CPA ads =/

So I`m here asking, please, consider implementing it as a feature in Stencyl in the future to complement the mochimedia integration, I really wanted to participate. They also ask for the Mochi Live Updates, but as far as I understood, I just have to enable it on mochi`s control panel when I upload the game (correct me if I`m wrong please)

By the way, I was the winner of the second contest =) There as very few entries but I`m still happy with that, once more, too bad I can`t enter the third contest =/ If onde of you have a way to implement manually the CPA ADs, it would be really awesome and helpfull to hear but as far as I know is not so easy.

Thanks!

Windows / Mac / Flash / HTML5 / Dungeon Escape
« on: August 04, 2013, 01:57:28 pm »
Dungeon Escape is my entry for the Mochi Summer Contest that is runing now. It was cool making this and I had much more work then I expected I would have. This was the first time I worked in a game that doesn't work with colisions. They gave 3 weeks to make the game. I think during these five weeks  , I took I think 5 days of work, at most. I think... not sure. Well, I hope you like it, there is not much to do in the game, it's a retro LCD game after all.

You can play it here:

Chit-Chat / Contacting Sponsors
« on: May 12, 2013, 12:27:09 pm »
Hi there,

It completed a month since I uploaded my first game for bidding into FGL, about 3 days after the uploaded I received my first bid a low one but a bid is a bid =), then I rejected the offer because of the low price, a week passed and I received my second bid, better than the first but still a low offer compared to what I have in mind.

I'm still not worried about the lack of bids in my game, for now, the problem is contacting the sponsors, the first thing I had in mind was send PM for some of the few sponsors who viewd my game on FGL, but when you are about to send a PM on FGL the following message appears:

"Please Note: You may not use the private message system to cold-call sponsors you haven't worked with before. (Not even if they viewed your game.) Do not contact sponsors unless they have contacted you first in some way (via PM, bid, etc.) Otherwise, it is considered spam and is not allowed."

And in respected to that I didn't contact anyone through PM on FGL, instead I went to numerous game portals and looked for contact, some of them, as you might now, have a form for developers that are looking for sponsorship. I have sent about 30 e-mails saying I was looking for sponsorship, the content of e-mail was a brief explanation of who I am and what my game was about with a screenshot, link to FGL and a link to a preview video at youtube. Unfortunately I received only 3 replyies of my mails, the rest of then didn't even sent me a simple "not interested" answer.

What concerns me about this situation is that, the sponsors didn't answer my mail but I also didn't got any "new views" from these sponsors on FGL site, they didn't take a look at my game at all in FGL. The problem is that, without a e-mail feedback and without seeing any new views on my game on FGL I can't even know if they received my mail or if the e-mail felt just into spam box from the sponsors.

Do you have any tips abouts conctacting sponsors ? I would be nice to hear some advice from more experienced developers here in the forum about this.

The link for my game at FGL:
https://www.fgl.com/view_game.php?game_id=27987

For now I got 2 bids for my game and also 3 Sponsors tracking.

One more thing.. I wanted to upload my game in the stencyl arcade to have some feedback from the comunity too but this might bring me problems with sponsors, isn't it ? Or I can publish my game here and still call it "unpublished" ?

Ask a Question / Simulate block
« on: April 23, 2013, 01:08:44 pm »
I am doing the challenge "Cutscenes" here on the stencylpedia (http://www.stencyl.com/help/view/controls/) and it talks about making cutscenes with the "simulate block", I understand how it works but is there a way to make the player unable to use the keys that the block is simulating during the cutscenes ?

the obvious answer is "oh, use a boolean and then the player will be unable to mess with the keys during the cutscenes"

But when I do this the simulates can't simulate nothing because the boolean is blocking the controls.

The question is... is there a way to disable the controls other then using a boolean ?
I searched the forums but didn't find any thread about disabling controls under this circunstance.

Ask a Question / Multiple actors character
« on: April 23, 2013, 07:44:09 am »
Hi there! Sometime ago i was doing the stencyl challenge about animations with many variations as it is mentioned here on stencylpedia ( http://www.stencyl.com/help/view/animations/ ) . I think I managed to solve this challenge but I runned into a little issue, my secondary actor (the arm of my character) is unable to follow my character if he is moving too fast.

For this result that you can see on stencyl arcade I used "set y to y of self for arm" (and X too)
Self = Main character

you can see the test here http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/18600 . A normal walk make everything looks ok but when you jump you see the problem, the arm doesn't follow the main character.

Is there a easy way to solve that ?

Thanks in advance.

Ask a Question / Windows 8 Lag issues with Stencyl 2.2.0
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:38:01 pm »
Did anyone have windows 8 lag problems on a published game ?

I posted my first game on FGL (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,19920.0.html) and one of the FGL team members found a massive lag (25~30fps) when played the game on windows 8 and told me that had the same problem on another stencyl game. Is there a way to solve that ? I really don't know if this happens in every stencyl game on windows 8 and unfortunatelly I don't have access to a pc with windows 8 for the test =/

Ask a Question / Complete Game with no sound
« on: January 29, 2013, 05:00:06 pm »
Hi there! Are there any royalt free sites where I can download good sound FX and mainly seamless music to insert in a game ?

I completed my first game in stencyl some weeks ago but I still didn't implement the sounds, among the sounds that I need, I also need sounds of Pets (cats and dogs precisely). I would appreciate any help you can give to me.

Thanks in advance!
