Chit-Chat / Re: Stencyl Community on Google+
« on: May 29, 2013, 08:48:05 am »
I'd like to start cross-posting social media updates to our Google+ page, since it's basically empty, but their API doesn't provide write access (AFAIK).

I thought about starting up a Stencyl community on there, but I don't want to split the community between there and here. It's bad enough when people use our Facebook page to ask for support instead of using our contact form or the forums. :P

With that all said, though, I applaud the effort and would love to hear more about how you're using Stencyl with your students.

As always, we'll handle this by email. You sent an email a couple of days ago saying you wanted a refund (?), so now I'm completely confused -- hence the delay.

For the record, Haxe does have a reflection API: http://haxe.org/api/type

What happens when testing your game on a device? How about if you run in Flash or HTML5? How about posting some screenshots?

News / Re: Stencyl 3.0 - Design Once. Play Anywhere.

We never announced a release date. We have internal goals that we aim for, but at the rate the ecosystem is changing (especially Apple's constantly changing requirements), delays are bound to pop up. We have a concrete list of items that need to be completed before we're comfortable with a public launch, but the fact of the matter is that users have published many games with the beta of 3.0, and we're encouraging all current subscribers who are starting new games to use 3.0.

Yeah, using StencylBuilder, assuming you have an iOS Developer account ($99/year).

We need to see your logs.

Like I said, it can be done, but you'll need to do some work. You could also pull in the full HTML string from the GET request and parse it in Stencyl.

Some sites have public (or private) APIs that you could try to call, too, to get just the data you need, but you'll need to do some hunting.

Welcome! The iOS Simulator is only available if you're on a Mac.

You'll need to use server-side scripting to scrape the data and then have Stencyl request that data via the HTTP request blocks (GET).

As a policy, we're honoring username change requests for customers only. It's a manual process for us that takes a lot of time. :-\

I don't get it. You mean to redirect to stencyl.com?

When you're talking about a style of digital art, you're talking about its creation process. If you create an image using resolution-independent vector shapes, paths, nodes, etc., you're creating vector art. Exporting it to a bitmap doesn't change anything.

With that said, if you're looking in an online marketplace for vector art, you wouldn't expect to see any PNG images because, while they may have been created in vector form, they're not editable as such.

Wow, that's really neat. Congratulations!
