Someone has any idea on how to do such server intensive multiplayer games with Stencyl (Like Agar.io, Diep.io etc)? How much would it cost, if we have to purchase stuff(like servers or extensions) to make it work?

If someone has any knowledge in this domain (I can take care of most things stencyl, except server), I would love to have a word !

Did anyone get a chance to try the Chrome book?  If they run android games, making custom ChromeOS games (through Stencyl) could be a good way to get target an emerging market!

Other than try you can take a look at Skullface and Making Monkeys by Skullface, or any of the games by Adventure Islands (Duke Dashington, Tiny Dangerous Dungeons etc). Stencyl is pretty strong with platformers.

What level of customisation does it offer? Can you send out custom titles, icons or in game rewards, for example?

The game bugged out yesterday. I was climbing the stairs and an infinite climb glitch got triggered. The score kept soaring as I lost control on the game. Had to quit the game and restart.
Sorry about that! That bug drives me mental, I can't recreate it on iOS anymore, but I'm not sure if that means it's fixed. On Android it seems to happen quite often when people use $50 devices from 2012 or whatever, it's very hard to deal with.

For what it's worth, I think it had happened when I had started climbing the stairs. Maybe there is a specific room/setup that triggers this on being created, destroyed or completed by the player.

When it commenced, I did think I uncovered a cutscene or a secret area   :P

What is the philosophy behind only having 1-2 people handle Stencyl development at a time, when the expectations now are bigger than ever?
If it is shortage of money, Jon could reach out to crowdfunding platforms, advertising and other ways to get visibility.
Once there is money, get bigger teams and let the engine reach its true potential.

Even reach out to third parties and create official extensions for things like Flurry, Adword, Admob, Google Analytics etc, and then GPS, Easy and comprehensive social plugins, Achievements and Leaderboard support, Rate the app?, Quality Preloaders on Mobile (last time I made a mobile game it had a 6 second black loading screen), Comprehensive support for local and push notifications, Comprehensive turn based and realtime multiplayer kits (Free or paid, whatever).

Making games is serious business. The engine is a business partner. Would you get into business with a business partner, that you know hasn't been keeping up to the expectations for a long time?

I used Stencyl messaging. Thanks for the info. I hope 'Custom XML'  means creating a build, and replacing the xml created with the one publisher provides, with some tweaks :P ..cos it is not something I found on Stencyl blocks.

I sent you a mail about it a while ago, I am gonna ask it here anyway. Did you come across any requests from the Publisher that you weren't able to satisfy directly, using the tools/extensions available?  Like some Analytics tracking APIs or Ad Monetization.

I can confidently say you are way off base there.

As an old Stencyl dev, I agree with Max! Except for the 'raking profit' bit.. Stencyl in my knowledge has never revealed sales figures, so we don't know if abundance of money or lack thereof, is the reason for the fading motivation towards maintaining Stencyl.
I have a love-hate relationship with stencyl now. I have invested so much time on this tool, I am reluctant to let it go. At the same time, the forge has been a failure, extension support is really slow and random bugs keep ruining the experience. I have been supporting Stencyl for 3-4 years. Now hoewever, with what little time I get now for development after my day job as a game designer, I want to spend it making things with maximum efficiency.
Stencyl does need to up its game if it wants to be anything more than a hobby tool.
