Paid Work / Stencyl Tutoring $20 Per Hour
« on: August 05, 2013, 10:16:16 am »
I have been using Stencyl for about 6 months but have been coding in game engines for a year now. While using Stencyl I have made a small game prototype. It has taken me around 6 months because of school, committments, etc..., but I definitely know the basics and even a little beyond the basics of Stencyl code.

A photo will be attached of some of the coding I have done in just the scene manager. Here is a link to a video of the small prototype in action: I coded nearly everything in it, and I only show a very small video.

An example of some of the code I did was randomly spawning 1 of 6 platforms, and on those platforms they have a chance of spawning either the 1st, 2nd, or both actors on the randomly spawned platform. You can also of course jump. Sorry for the bad video quality; I optimized it for a tablet and do not have a screen recorder for it. It is just a small demo to show I can code.

Now down to tutoring business. I am trying to earn money to build a pc to continue game developing, for the computer I use now is a painfully slow desktop and locks up even with Stencyl. I have tutored someone before with a game engine, and I am looking to start up that business once again.

I would prefer to do the tutoring over Skype/doing screenshare. I can go over the fundamentals of Stencyl, functions of the code blocks, going over game logic, practical application for the code blocks, building demos, or even go over the code in my prototype if you want. I have never published an app, for my artist left me, but I can also give you advice (to the best of my ability) about marketing and give you ideas on how to go about coding an idea you may have. However you learn best, I will do my best to teach. Also, I can tutor in either regular stencyl or on stencyl 3.

On price, I would really prefer $25 an hour, and if necessary we can go a little over the time to make sure you are understanding the concept or if we are not yet finished. I might also consider a flat rate. However, if you cannot do $20 an hour just let me know and we can negotiate. I'm flexible  :D

Best way to contact me is pm or dropping a comment. Thanks, and let me know if anyone has any questions.

Hello, I am in need of a new artist for my game company: Creative Juices Entertainment. My main artist recently left, and I have a position opening up. I was currently in the process of making a game prototype and already have some arts made by the old artist that makes up the near-prototype I have today. I simply need a replacement.
1. Willing to work for profit share.
2. Understands that I in a sense "lead" the team. I represent the team, and I make the final decisions; but the team discusses anything before going forward.
3. Must be an excellent game artist-this will be a 2d game, mainly using 2d artwork until I start using 3d.
4. Preferably 4+ years of experience

If you are interested or have any questions, please message me, and we can go from there. I will post in the comments of this discussion when the spot is filled. I may accept 2 artists (1 concept and other the main artist). Thanks for your time.

I will be working on a game that I have an idea for, and I need a team. I need a good artwork and sound designer. This will be a profit sharing position. Please comment or message me if you are interested or know someone who is. Game idea, what your job will be, and everything else will be discussed once interested. I also would like to see samples of previous work. If you do not have any previous work, just send me a sample. Thanks everyone and have a nice day. I look forward to working with you.
