I expect it will vary from game to game. With the advent of online multiplayer that actually works, split screen gaming will become less necessary. Also I expect you wouldn't be forced to use the controller for multiplayer, unless the game was utilising it in some special way. I'm quite a fan of asymmetrical multiplayer so this isn't necessarily a problem. It's just a shame you can't have lots of them to have local multiplayer without screen watching for example.

At least it sounds like the pricing will be reasonable.

Personally I think the whole placing the controller on the floor thing was just to show how the Wiimote and the new control system can work in tandem. It's not really practical and this application I don't think would enhance gameplay at all really.

Also, as most of my my info comes form posts on TIGS and nobody here has mentioned it yet, you can only have one of these screen things, and everybody else has to use Wiimote/Nunchuk combos for their controls. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I understand the technical limitations of streaming content to more than one device at a time, but unless they present a screenless new controller the new control system (aside from the touch/camera elements) would be rather underutilised in local multiplayer. I don't know. It's probably fine.

Personally I'm a big advocate of self defence but I'm aware you can't really get away with much in the UK. So I'd call the police, try and secure myself and wife, loudly proclaim that the authorities were in transit and encourage the dastardly fellow to leave. The awareness that they had been caught should be enough to cause most criminals with any sense to vacate the premises.

It supports the Wii controller. Some of the game concepts utilized both controllers, like the golf game where the controller would display the ball's lie on the ground and you'd use the Wii remote as a club.
Oh yeah I completely overlooked that bit. Well they've got tons of things to play with this generation then, rather than just point, waggle and 'controller without enough buttons'. Proper netplay for Nintendo games would be real bonus too, there are a lot of great games that missed out due to Nintendo's rubbish online support record.

I think this looks pretty spectacular. Wonder if they'll still include Wiimote/Nunchuk support or stick with making the screen on the new console the primary 'accessible' control system. In all honesty aside from the name I can't pick any fault with what I've seen.

I like the visuals you've got there, and the concept is pretty neat. However I think the mechanics as they stand are a bit unclear. As far as I can tell you've got limited ammo/ 'clip size' and need to reload every so often. But this can only be done when you've used up all of your current ammo, meaning you are sometimes caught short if you've not reloaded recently enough. Also though I've no problem with the unicorn itself, it is unclear where it's hit region should be. Presumably this would be around it's legs due to the perspective choice, but it's not obvious just by looking. I would also suggest making the enemy bullets slower as it's hard to judge if you're going to get hit or not when trying to position yourself.

I also noticed some sorting issues related to the unicorn being drawn underneath soldiers who were clearly supposed to be further in the background.

Anyways it's a cool concept and like I said before I think the art is really nice, and there's some good special effects in there. Also the music is good. Just think the main gameplay mechanics could do with tightening up and explaining a bit more clearly. Regardless this is certainly good for a first release.

Hi everybody!

I'm Man of Doom, although I'm also Luke. I've been trying to design games since shortly after I started playing them (about the age of 4 then), but only really got into it in the past 5 years. I learned how to code a bit on YABASIC for the PS2, but after that found GameMaker and have stuck with it ever since. I'm looking to expand my audience a bit and feel a great tool with Flash support such as Stencyl is an ideal way to do this. I'm totally behind the whole community theme of the project and find as an indie having a support network such as this is very important, given that we are generally lone wolf developers.

Anyway I made a bunch of games nobody has really played, but always try to do something interesting. Most of my releases are made for Contests as I find it helps keep me focused. In terms of what I can do I generally do a bit of everything, I do at, music, game design, writing etc.

Some general stuff about my gaming interests:
Favourite genre: Survival Horror / Action Adventure
Favourite game: Super Metroid
Most Played game: Advance Wars Dual Strike (Technically Haze but I was employed to do that so it doesn't count)
Favourite games this console generation: Deadly Premonition, Prototype, Alpha Protocol.

Hope to have a good time around here and contribute some cool stuff!
