Chit-Chat / Re: Wii U
« on: June 09, 2011, 02:07:09 am »
I find it interesting for three reasons:

- Various innovation can could prove themselves useful in the future (or not, depends on how the devs will use that)
- Playing without a TV.
- You can draw on the screen. (Graphic tablet with screens are excessively expensive.)

But I'm  "meh" for one reason.

- The games. I don't have a Wii because it had a grand total of 0 games I was interested in. I'm not saying they were bad, it's just that it wasn't my cup of tea.

I probably won't buy it just after the release, I'll wait for the game catalog to grow up a bit and show me if the games will be interesting for me or not.
I'm also curious about the price... because if you're a casual player* like me you don't want to spend a fluffton of money on these fancy things...

* Casual like "not playing a lot" heh, not casual like "buying a €500+ tablet to play backgammon, nintendogs or tennis." :)

I played it a lot when the Orange Box was released, it was fun but I finally stopped playing after a while.
I left before they implemented hats! I never experienced the joy of having hats!

Chit-Chat / Re: E3 Impressions
« on: June 07, 2011, 02:03:14 am »
I don't follow E3 much, so I don't know what happened today, but after browsing a few minutes on their sites, the only games on E3 I have interest in are:

Dead Island.

I love zombie related games, but I always wait for a few non-professional gameplay videos before deciding if it's worth buying.

Metro Last Light.

Loved the book, liked the game. I shall follow this one with high anticipation.

Saints Row the third.

Loved the 2nd, it was a very entertaining sandbox gta-like mayhem.

Modern Warfare 3.

I never really understood why being a CoD player was so pejorative, but I have no shame to admit I enjoy these games. Every now and then I like playing extremely scripted cinematic games, It's like watching a semi-interactive movie.
The multiplayer is far from groundbreaking but can be enjoyable if you disable the voicechat. :)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Not sure about him, nice trailer and all, but having the same name as a 10 year old game who was awesome back then doesn't make this one automatically good... wait & see.

- I think I will probably end up buying Saints Row the third, I have faith in this one.
- I love games like Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 2/3. I hesitate between being disappointed that these kind of games never got big media coverage and being happy that big industries are not trying to rape and deface them. Paradox interactive are present but I think it's for totally different type of games.
- I was not expecting anything original or innovative, I only find this in a few indie games.

I'll shout from right behind him: “Stop right there criminal scum, pay the court a fine or serve your sentence, your stolen goods are now forfeit!”

If he refuse or if there's more than one criminal scum, I call 101.
I wouldn't shoot to kill (if I had a gun) because my furniture isn't worth someones life after all... unless he was a threat to me or mt family of course.

Done in 4-6 days? That's really impressive! Great job here.

But it's so hard I could only scrape the surface of each level, to busy being dead :)

And if you like obeying the law, it's pretty expensive.

I use Photoshop Elements, there's a lot of missing features but it can do the trick, and it's way cheaper (+-100 € for a recent version, I got an older one for 50€)

Chit-Chat / Re: Post your favorite game music ...
« on: June 04, 2011, 07:19:09 am »
Oh, I'm an horrible person, how could I forget about these epic games?

Suikoden I - Main Theme
Suikoden II - Reminiscence

Secret of Mana

Fear of the Heavens
Phantom and a Rose

Illusion of Time/Gaia

Illusion of Gaia OST #11 - Signs of The Past (When I was a kid, I hated being in a place where this music was playing, I was afraid something horrible may suddenly happen. Aah, childhood imagination. :) )

I can help you for some art like the items and resources. Unfortunately I am full of suck concerning tile-sets... D:

I'll make a few icons to see if they could fit in your game. :)

I'm making a food themed stage for my game... now I'm uber-hungry and my fridge is empty... and it's 0:38 here and everything is closed.

Woe is me...
