Thanks for the link, I'll take a look next time I'm testing.

A good thought, but no! Disabled the extension and still I'm not getting anything (build 8389).

@ceosol I've solved the specific problem I was working on and I can't remember what it was now. It's true there are other workarounds but printing to console is quicker, and much easier if you're trying to track the value of several variables over time, for example.

Hey, thanks for coming back!

Those last logs were with the latest public 3.3 - since I renewed  my membership the other day I downloaded 3.4 Build 8389, but I'm still not getting any print statements from the console on iOS Device.

(For most of my projects, this is not a problem - only on this multiplayer iPad prototype I'm working on is it really necessary to use the tablet device!)

New logs (from 3.4) attached, if that helps

Thanks!

Hello!

I've attached my logs  - sorry, I've been away for a few weeks.

Thanks for looking into this!

Nice one guys - I downloaded this a few days ago and just got around to playing it this afternoon. I didn't realise it was made in Stencyl until browsing the forums just now! Glad it's going so well for you!

Cheers,

That looks really useful (plus I do miss the old console) but I can't get it running on iOS or simulator. It is working in flash (just launched it as a sanity check), but I have some multitouch nonsense to debug so I really need to be working on the device. Thanks for suggestion though.

Ask a Question / Can't see debug / print data when testing on iOS
« on: May 04, 2015, 03:34:35 am »
Hi,

I hope this is a simple issue to resolve. I can't see any print bugs in the console when I'm testing on iOS device or simulator. This is making  it impossible to debug. Alas!

I had this problem with 3.2 and have just updated to 3.3 - still I am having the issue.

I have all the options activated in the  Log viewer and I have tried building via Debug > Game > Run App in debug mode (iOS).
The last time I was debugging iOS with Stencyl was 2.x and everything was happening in xcode. Do I now need to launch xcode separately?

As far as I can ascertain from stencylpedia, everything in Xcode is set up correctly. http://www.stencyl.com/help/view/mobile-debugging-ios/

Is there anything I could have missed?

Just a thought:

...this doesn't allow me to use multitouch.

If you're trying to use multitouch, are you using the new multitouch event and blocks?

Hi! Again, sorry for the revival of an old post... but has anyone solved this yet?

Thanks! This is really a computer science question then, I suppose!

Ask a Question / Largest possible number?
« on: January 31, 2015, 07:29:32 am »
Hi,

I have a number attribute that I am incrementing by 1 every .12 seconds. What is the largest number I'm allowed in Stencyl?  How  long can I keep incrementing the attribute until I'll need to reset it?

Thanks

Ludum Dare 29 / Dystopian Scratchcard Thriller

Just posted my Jam entry.
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=23072

I was very busy over this weekend but wanted to use LD as an opportunity to try out the new image manipulation features in Stencyl that I haven't had the chance to learn yet! I spent a few hours throwing this together.

It's a scratch card simulator with a story. Read and scratch.

Gah, after all my diary entries and commitment avoiding, it looks like mine will be a 12h entry made on *some of* Sunday! My aim is to get to grips with images and shaders in stencyl so my votes are for things that could make cool vfx!
