There are several Jump Behaviors in Stencyl forge, several of these often need you to have the "On Ground" Behavior as well.  You could download one of these to use and/or look at how they are done.

Like Hectate said you need to be sure gravity is on the scene as well as one the actor.

Ask a Question / Re: Game Design Or Mechanics First ?
« on: March 13, 2013, 06:34:17 am »
I am very new to Stencyl myself.  Over the years though I have written down various game ideas and mechanics.  Since discovering Stencyl, I have now been trying to create each of them in Stencyl and then deciding on which ones I should make as a game.

I would say think of an idea, and then see if you can do it in Stencyl.  Some ideas you may think are not possible may prove to be all too easy later once you are more familiar with Stencyl ( I have noticed this within my few weeks).

Thank you so much.  This made it work perfectly and even fixed another bug I didn't mention.  I truly appreciate your help and feel I learned several new ways of doing things in the process.

Resolved Questions / [Solved] Portal-ish Action Question
« on: March 05, 2013, 06:07:30 pm »
I should start by saying I am pretty new to Stencyl, and still trying to figure out a good bit of the program.  I am working on a prototype for a portal style game in which you click to make a portals.  Walking into one will warp you to the other.  I was easily able to implement the click to create and touch to warp mechanics.  The part that is not working as I would like is when exiting a portal.  I used a boolean and a timer to create a delay that makes it work well when the exit is in the air, however if the exit is on the ground it is common to get trapped in an endless warp back in forth.  I tried a combination of variables both numbers and booleans to add an extra element, but none of it worked.
Any advice on how to go about making it where the portal you exit out of will not warp you back unless you have stepped away from it first would be great.

I put what works as described above in the image (hopefully it isn't bad enough to be embarrassed or anything)
