This looks beautiful, but one critique I have is that everything has high contrast and saturation and it is difficult to tell stuff apart. I suggest lowering saturation and contrast for background objects.

We are aware of this, but at this point not sure if it's going to be deal breaker for players.
Main idea of graphics is to create hot/summer experience.

Is it really FPS breaking to have multiple always events in single behavior?

You can create Actor attribute in Scene events and set it to last created Actor after spawning your Actor.
And then use this attribute in [switch animation to _ for Actor].

Another approach might be use of  [blocks] under "Behavior"  -> "Attributes" it's function is to get or set  attributes of Actor or Scene.
(This approach  Actor checks for change of Scene attribute)

After messing with snippets list.xml i was able to open game but got errors.

To fix error during compilation I had to remove custom block behavior, save and close game.
Another interesting thing was all Actors being stripped of behaviors.

Got it running now :)

Managed to open game.

1.  Open
Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Stencyl\stencylworks\games\Your Game Name\snippets\list.xml

2. Comment out snippet by snippet and try to open game - repeat  until it opens.

Now I'm getting weird errors on compiling(fkd up brackets):

I've been waiting for trial for ages whats status on this? :)

This feature would definitely deliver message that Stencyl is up for effective game making.

Story continues :)

After long waiting times in Apple App submission process, zSnake is finally out and ready for you to play.


Lets get to Google Play statistics.

- had average of 10 daily downloads slowly falling to 2.
- multiple Slovak Android portals wrote about zSnake what caused small boost in Downloads( around 20 a day)
- game been in top 200 new apps on Slovak market( only for few days)
- portal with 60k subscribers wrote about it and here comes the spike
   - 122 Downloads at day of media release
   - breath taking 663 Downloads after they posted on Facebook

Low download rate was sort of demotivation although my personal "play it safe"  goal was 300 downloads.
One day changed everything - media plays huge role in number of downloads and overall spread of game.

Anyone with knowledge of international Android or iOS portals with fair number of subscribers? (ones who give chance to startups)

Now as we gained good portion of experience we put it in use on our next game. (we share info after further progress).
