Hi, everyone. I've just been asked to develop a game for someone, today. A paid game.

The agreement would be that they would pay me and I would develop a paid game for them and publish it on my account. Then, all of the download sales (that get sent to my bank account) I will send it to that person, each month. We would both declare this on our tax returns.

I agreed to go ahead with it. But, I'm starting to wonder if this is a good idea and if anyone on here has done this.

Ideally, he would create his own iOS account. But, I'm not entirely sure if he'd be able to set it all up etc. On his own.  Also, he'd need to upload the files etc. When they're on his PC/Mac. Which isn't the most user-friendly experience.

Just wanting to get some advice before going ahead with it.

Thanks

Seb.

Hey, Romanoff!

I'd be looking for two fairly simple level designs and three characters with 2-3 frames each.

If you're interested. Please inbox me, so we can sort out the details.  :)

Thanks

Joe.

Hey, everyone. I'm in need of an artist that is able to produce graphics similar to those in the Streets of Rage games.

The game will have an arcade theme. So, if you think that you could help or provide similar artwork. Please inbox me.

Thanks  :)

Seb

Fair point.

I'd be looking for Streets of Rage style artwork. (Hope that makes things clearer)  :)

Ask a Question / Pencyl not opening
« on: April 20, 2016, 10:02:41 am »
For some reason, Pencyl doesn't seem to open when I press Edit Frames or Create Frames (External).

Is there any reason why this is? I tend to use Pencyl to create rough outlines of characters etc. Before creating detailed versions of them. Otherwise, I'll have to use paint and import images from that.

Is there a way around this / has anyone else had this problem?

Cheers.

Seb.

Hey. I haven't used Stencyl for months or been on here for months, either.

I've had a search regarding updates etc. But I can't seem to find anything about a GPS update.

The last time I was on here. I was given the choice of using the latest BETA update, which would allow me to implement Google Play Services into my game (but it wouldn't allow you to save the game).

Also, I was told before that Stencyl isn't capable of allowing me to choose people to BETA test on iOS.

I've just been asked to create a game for someone and I wasn't entirely sure what the current state was for both of these features.

Could someone please let me know.

Thanks!  :)

Hey, everyone! I haven't been on here for a while.

I've just noticed that Stencyl has been updated, again.

Just out of interest. Does this now allow you to enable Google Play Services without any save/load game errors?

Cheers!

Thanks, oripessach!

Massively appreciated.

I'll look into your method and rob1221's method, too! (Cheers, Rob)

I never bump my topics. But, I'm stressing out about this and I want to sort it out before tomorrow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've recently had my game rejected because it was in letterbox format.

Apple told me that using letterbox on games makes them look unfinished. So, I have to go full screen.

If I go full screen now. It will stretch the background image. So, I'm going to have to resize it and crop a bit out.

What would be the best resolution to choose for the game, for Apple devices?

Thanks

Seb

Hey, colburt187.

A couple of my friends play games on YouTube and were talking to me about Wrassling, the other day.

They were unsure if the in-game music was copyrighted. Would they be ok uploading gameplay to YouTube with/without the music?

They're not big channels. But, they don't want to get hit with copyright strikes / content ID etc.

Hey. I'm looking to complete this game I've been working on.

It's a time-based game and the idea is, when you reach 20 points - it will play a sound.

Then, when you reach 40 points - it will play another sound.

At the moment I've tried;

always;
if score = 20
play sound on channel 5
if score=40
play sound on channel 6

Those didn't work. So I tried

When created
do every 1 second
If score = 20
play sound on channel 5
if score = 40
play sound on channel 6

That doesn't work, either. Not entirely sure what else I can try.  ::)

Hey. Just out of interest. How do you get those codes to give out to people, so they don't have to pay for your paid app?

Do you have to do this beforehand or after the release of your app?

Hey. I'm releasing a game for a friend. But he wants to play it first.

I've asked someone in the past and they told me that it's not possible to do so.

Just wondering if things have changed or not.

If it is. How easy is it to move the game from BETA testing status to submitting it? (I have lots of trouble uploading iOS games)

Seb.
