Paid Work / Re: 1-2 min games needed! [Looking for developers]
« on: June 16, 2015, 06:35:24 am »Interesting.
Here's an idea, to game developers who's gonna do this.
Scrap the idea of putting Ads on your short 1-2 minute game. The game is just too short,
it'll be more annoying than fun, you'll get more of a negative feedback, trust me.
Instead, put a button linking to the full game (ios?android?web?steam?) or at least a text of where they can grab it.
If the game is well made, and very addictive, there's a chance people will want to grab the full game.
Because the nature of the game is just too short, the chances of them wanting more are pretty high.
Think of it as a snippet, a little demo of your full game.
If it doesn't do well, at least you get a few bucks, and a few traffics.
I can see this is way better than spamming twitter and fb, and buying ad placement.
Sounds like a win-win situation to me, and a great free advertising.
Great idea!

« on: June 15, 2015, 04:05:04 pm »Well, yes I agree but also I was thinking people would most likely submit parts of their existing games, and they could put ads on it so again it's not a lot, but you get some money, advertising space, and credit for it. That's a lot less then having a game just put in the stencyl arcade.I was thinking I'd pay around $5-10 for 5 gamesSaying that's laughable is an understatement. If someone spent a mere hour per game (which is a very optimistic time estimate,) that's $1-2 dollars hourly wage.

I was thinking I'd pay around $5-10 for 5 games, and less for parts of games. Contact me on skype please so we can see what exactly you're interested in developing.

I would but I'd need their permission and access to the Stencyl logic so I can make it send the redirect request. And I need the games to be rather short.

Hi,
I am a web developer and I developed the site/url shortener "not so fast!" with PlunderPixels. It's different from other URL shorteners because the user has to complete a small, annoying game before going on to the link. I decided to use Stencyl to make these games because it has a great community and it's easy to make http requests. Right now as you see, the games to play are only the example ones because I don't have the time or skill to make them.
So, I need stencyl game developers to make these games. They should be hard, but not too hard and very short so the user doesn't get too angry. I can show you how to make it to communicate with the site on the win event and I can send you the short stencyl block which sends the request to redirect. I am willing to pay if you can make a lot of these games, and they can be just like a level of one of your existing games. You can also put your name on the game and put advertisements so you can make money.
Please email me: ben@speedysnail6.com or add me on skype if you're interested: speedysnail6.

Hi,
I am trying to do a simple http request and output it but I get this error:
I've tried many things to allow the app to communicate with it. This is all my code for the scene.
What am I doing wrong?

Hey,
Sorry I've been away. According to theabbott's latest post, sdieters' solution wouldn't work. Will it? What should I do?
Thanks for the replies,
- Speedysnail6

Hey,
Is there a possible way to play a sound online with Stencyl http://example.com/mysound.mp3? I have levels managed online and there will be lots of sounds. I have reason to do it this way.
Thanks in advance,
Ben
