Having a really rough time figuring out how to trigger a custom event in a different actor than where I triggered it from.

I know somehow I have to use "trigger event ____ in all behaviors for (choose attribute)" but I have no idea how.

Steps I've taken so far:
  • Googling my issue. Found two threads asking a similar question and they were answered, but the answers were going way over my head.
  • Aimlessly trying every thing I could think of for hours on end. That was definitely fun.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I want to make it so that when I click in a specific region of my game it will create an actor at that x position starting from the top of the screen slowly floating down to the bottom of the region where it will hang idle for a few seconds and then disappear.

This is as far as I've gotten:

          addMousePressedListener(function(list:Array):void {
        if((getMouseX() >= 214))
            createActor(getActorType(5), getMousePressedX(), 16, FRONT);

And that crashes my flash player. The first 214 pixels of my game is a GUI, and I don't want the actor to be created in my GUI. So I don't know what else to do.
