Never used Stencyl before...But I guess this is a good time to try it out. Hope I can get something decent together by the deadline!

I am going to bump this. Still can't figure it out for some reason. Now I have a top-down game with 4 way movement. No physics on characters or scenes. But when my character gets hit by an enemy and I try to do a quick tween away from them, they still get stuck in place afterwards.

I also tried setting their x/y-speed to different values to see if they would move, but still no luck. What is the trick to this?

EDIT: So I hacked a little something together that seems to work. When I get hit, I make a loop and then update the appropriate position each time through the loop. I have been playing with different numbers, but the motion is still kind of 'jagged'. You can kind of see the animation, but it still looks a little too much like a teleport situation. Any thoughts on this, or am I totally on the wrong track haha?

Definitely a fun little game! However, I think you really should reference "Bullet Heaven", since this game is a pretty close clone of it, at least in terms of layout and art.

Ask a Question / Actor Stuck After Bounce Out Tween

Hello everyone,

So after making contact with an enemy, I have your controllable character do a slide 'Bounce Out' tween by -10 in the x and over 1 second. The tween looks great; however, afterwards the character is stuck in place. You can change direction by pushing left or right and walk in place, but you can't actually move any where. Does anyone know what might cause this?

Ask a Question / Zoom in on Actor

Hello all,

So I have done a bit of searching on the forums, but it looks like most of it is out of date or associated with 2.0., since the majority of the referenced kits/resources are not available on 3.0 StencylForge. What I am trying to do is just zoom/track in on an actor a certain amount after pressing an action key. Ideally it would actually zoom in and not jump in. Is there a good way to do this, or would we have to fake it with changing heights, widths, etc?

I remember seeing a small demo on the forums here a while back where a character just was walking across platforms, but at one point, the camera smoothly zooms in on the character as you walk. That would be a similar effect that I am going for.
