I realize you're upset that his game is similar to yours, and maybe I would be too, but I'd recommend letting it go. Going after developers for their little game jam games isn't a great look (especially considering your game is seven years old), and there are far better uses of your time.

Yeah its stupid and petty but telling them they're a twat is really all i can do in this situation - so that is what i shall do.

While the inspiration is definitely there, I think the two games are basically different.

This has gotta be like the 5th(?) time iv seen a clone of one of my games, and when called out the user is a complete bitch and tries to cook up some elaborate story of "coincidences" that happen to align. Why don't you just admit you got busted and apologise. Its pathetic. You probably put more effort into that post than trying to disguise that your game is a 1 to 1 rip off. And, yes, using sticky wall monkeys to climb walls is a mechanic in my game (just executed better), but you already knew that didnt you..

I see you put a lot of effort into hyperlinks and backstory. Honestly, i could screenshot and such myself but i cant be bothered, any idiot who sees these two games knows yours is a carbon copy without even the decency to give credit. Case in point just look at the post above yours.

Now not only have you ripped off my work/art, you're tryna say i'm a liar or delusional too? Jesus dude, have some class.

In future, make your own games - or at the very least give credit.

Ask a Question / Re: CPMstar domain filter
« on: November 06, 2013, 08:19:10 am »
Would your sponsor accept CPMStar ads after the Stencyl preloader, or does it have to be preloader ads?  I'm asking that because you can't change any code related to the preloader in 2.2.

Oh damn.. i guess it could be done at an 'engine based' level, like modify the actual engine script though right?

How would i go about doing it post preloader?

Ask a Question / CPMstar domain filter
« on: November 05, 2013, 08:01:33 pm »
Hey,

I'm in desperate need of a bit of code, which can filter CPMstar ads per domain, in Stencyl 2.4

I didn't realize CPMstar/stencyl didn't have this feature built in, and now i might lose a chunk of a game sponsorship which has taken a long time to get!

Anyone who could help me on this, it would be much appreciated. thankyou :)

Slick looking stuff to be sure. Unity, huh? Keep hearing about this thing... maybe I should finally look into this sometime.

It also makes me think I need to get more serious about my art skills... again. I think I may know part of what's holding me down though, so to speak, and I may correct it sooner than later.

Yeah Unity coupled with C#, i would argue is the indie developers dream.
As for art skills, in 3D you can get away with a simple style a lot of the time, just nice lighting and aesthetic, look at minecraft.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone.

Thanks for the compliments man, i worked really hard on this so when i hear people are liking it, it feels really good.

Its actually a kit, so yeah you can buy it and make any game you like from it, commercial or otherwise.

For unity just take some beginner C# tutorials, homeandlearn is good, and then do the beginner scripting tutorials unity provides. After that, i would try to replicate some simple games like pong or asteroids, and just keep challenging yourself.. that's basically the method i used. Good luck!

Achieve your dream platformer featuring dynamic PHYSICS DRIVEN character interactions, immediate results with DRAG N DROP LEVEL DESIGN and compelling gameplay using SMOOTH, TIGHT CONTROLS! Guarenteed fun!

Hope the Stencyl community is doing well, i played blobs latest game and it was great (wheres rocketeer man!) Let me know if you have fun on the demo, maybe this could be the framework for SkullFace 3D??

Chit-Chat / Re: How much faster is programming with stencyl?
« on: September 18, 2013, 11:45:28 am »
Much slower than typing code, but takes days to learn, as opposed to months.

If you're in this game for the long haul consider learning to write code instead, the logic in both is exactly the same.

- get how far the player is in: x/-x/y/-y direction of the car
- when car hits a corner square set its direction to whichever is largest
- if thats not possible, get next best thing, or failing that just set it random
