Ask a Question / Re: Lag Fix Please?
« on: December 19, 2011, 02:35:40 pm »
Are you creating a large number of actors by any chance? Or have a lot of collisions going on? As a first option have a look at this article on optimising game performance: http://www.stencyl.com/help/viewArticle/52. As well as this, if you have something that's trying to reference an actor that no longer exists (i.e. you're telling the scene etc to do something with a specific actor, except you haven't specified one) then this can cause huge lag issues. There are quite a few possible causes though.

Okay thanks a lot for your help. I'll go through and check if anything is assigned to something thats now non excistent. Also is there anyway I can delete some actors from my library?

Ask a Question / Lag Fix Please?
« on: December 19, 2011, 12:31:56 pm »
I've been working on a game for about 8 hours today. It's my first time using Stencyl, hence the amount of time it's taken me to make my small still 'WIP' game.

But on level 3 of my game I get a ridiculous amount of lag.

I'm not sure if I've done something wrong whilst developing it which is causing the lag. or something else is causing it. please try and help me! :)

Ask a Question / Regions
« on: December 19, 2011, 01:35:52 am »
I'm sorry if I'm being extremely stupid but here. But I can't seem to figure out how to add a region to one of my scenes. I have only just started working with Stencyl for about an hour now. I've created my scenes and actors with all of there needed behaviors.

My game is a platformer so obviously when I get to the end of each scene, I need to be able to move onto the next level. I have the Next-scene behavior installed, I also have it set to my playable actor, and which scene it will move onto. But obviously I need a region for it to be able to activate. But I don't know how to create a region.

Any help would be great!

Thanks :)
