Game Ideas / Re: FETCH
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:09:10 am »
It looks like a great idea! However, I have to agree with zerosimms about the art style.

I think this has the potential to be a great game. I'm already liking the looks! I quite like dogs too... and that pug is quite cute in itself!

However I do have a question to ask: will there be Xoloitzcuintlis in this? Maybe you could have some kind of Aztec statue that would teleport them, but not other dogs... just an idea, of course.

Yeah, I see what you're going for. But thanks for taking the time to look at my idea.

As for the Bonuses vs. Achievements thing, I have to agree with thegenericbanana. Achievements don't give you anything or help your cause of justice, but I wouldn't mind a nice big coin bonus...

I think it would be good if you had it so whenever you restart that a certain amount of points is added to your score. Otherwise, great game!

Very nice! I do think it would be nice if there were more pets in the game, though. It could give some strategy to the game, switching from the player to one pet to another...

For example, there could be an area with bonuses that only certain pets could get to. For example, there's water in between the player and bonus coins. Then, you could summon a Salamander pet that would be able to swim and get the coins.

Just an idea, of course.

The enemy would be pretty easy to make. You just make two collision boxes, one for the target and the other one for the body of the enemy. The body would then be given a collision group that comes in contact with Blue Guy (and hurts him), but not the Projectiles. The target's collision group would come in contact with the projectile, however.

Game Ideas / Re: New game (Card game. Team needed)

Unfortunately, he's right. For there to be a team everybody has to come up with some things...

I do quite like the idea of a card game with spades, hearts, jacks, ect., though.

The "On Ground" behavior worked.

I appreciate the help from both of you. I hope I can be as good a Stencyler as either of you one day...

Thank you for all your help! I'll see if that works...

EDIT: also, I don't think you're much of a noob. You seem to be a pretty skilled Stencyler to me.

EDIT(again): unfortunately, the Idle animation still overrides the Walking animations, and the character still won't jump...

Yeah, I'm new. And that's not harsh at all, especially since it's true.

As for the Animation Manager well... no, I don't have one.

I must sound so daft right now...

I have a problem that I can't seem to fix. You see, I have the player, and I've applied the Jump and Walk animations, but it won't work. The Player won't jump and when walking it stays in the idle animation.

I made it just like it was in the Crash Course, only I used the Idle animation for the Jump animation. This is not the first time this has happened, too...

Oh no. D: Well, I hope it gets repaired.

I've been busy with other things lately, but that game I mentioned earlier isn't cancelled, and I'll give you credit for it, KFF. ;)

Happy New Year! I hope that this year will be a better year than last for y'all, with less crime, zombie hotdogs, ect.

...at least, if Quetzalcoatl doesn't slaughter us all...

Thanks! I downloaded two from StencylForge and they made my rather pathetic game ok. :D Taht may sound drab, but it's much better than it was before...
