Thanks again for your quick response - sorry mine is delayed.

I'm running into the same issue where that's not an option for me to do. I figured pictures may explain the problem better than me...





The Attribute "Dance" isn't showing up, but as you can see, it exists...

(Happy New Year, by the way)

Edit: I just enabled customization for this character and now see "Dance" as something my character can do. Still not helping me solve the problem I have, though.

Liberado, thanks for your prompt response!

I am having some problems... Instead of "JUMP," I want this behavior to be "DANCE," or something similar. Obviously, since DANCE does not exist, I need to create a Behavior and call it Dance (I assume).

So, I create an Attribute (named DANCE), then I click "Add Behavior" and select DANCE.  I click "Edit Behavior" and find myself at the same screen as before. So, I try to follow your instructions, but encounter this problem.

when [action2] is [pressed]
switch animation to [___] for [Self].

When I click [___] all I can click is "Basics."

I don't see a way to edit the Attribute to have any animations... any thoughts? I've been trying to figure out what to do for an hour and am stumped. :-\ I went to the Space Invaders Crash Course and Stencylpedia and can't find anything to help me on this.

Hello, sorry for the dumb question. I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times before, but much to my chagrin, I can't find an answer.

I want it so that whenever the user hits action1, the player enters a certain animation. When released, it will revert to their neutral animation.

I've tried the following:

 when [action1] is [pressed]

 switch animation to "Current animation for [actor] for [choose attribute]"

I'm guessing that [choose attribute] should be the animation I want? So, I ran with that logic...

However, when I click the button [choose attribute], it makes a box pop up that says "Choose Attribute: This Behavior contains no attributes of type 'Actor.'"

I then tried to create an Attribute that would contain the animation I want for the player, but I can't figure out how to do that. I looked through Stencylpedia and can't find anything that helps me here, so I'm guessing I'm thinking of this all wrong and that I'm not going to be creating an animation as an attribute.

Is there an article that could help me here? Thanks!

(Also, I don't imagine this will help, but here's my ultimate goal: when the character has pressed the action1 button a certain number of times, it will trigger a response that will add XP to level up their character. Basically, this "scene" is going to be a training room, and when they do a certain action enough times, it will count toward leveling up their character.)
