There is also a method of reverse engineering which can be used to get the apk file with out the licence which I believe is a big red flag at the moment but I'm not sure how Stencyl plan to go about preventing this.  Really hope they do however as it's not fair on the people that pay for their licence and they can still do the same thing just with a little more work.

I agree! People can just get this for free and they cant get caught... unless they publicly tell people.

A bit random but apparently google play updated there policy's yesterday im not sure if it will effect anyone in a good or bad way:

Hello Google Play Developer,
We’re excited to announce the launch of a redesigned Google Play Developer Policy Center, an online resource which strives to provide developers with greater transparency and insight into our program policies.
This redesign includes a new organizational structure for the Developer Program Policies, which are now grouped into six themes. We’ve also introduced detailed guidelines and visual examples to help you better understand the policies.
In our continuing effort to make Google Play the most trusted community for developers and consumers, we also took this opportunity to update a few policies in accordance with current practices. This email is to notify you of the latest changes to our policies, a few of which are highlighted below.

•   We’ve clarified our Ads policy to prohibit certain ad behaviors that interfere with device functionality.
•   We’ve introduced restrictions on apps that try to bypass system power management features under the Device and Network Abuse policy.
•   We’ve clarified our User Data policy to include a privacy policy requirement when collecting contact/phonebook data.
Any new apps or app updates published after this notification will be immediately subject to the latest version of the Developer Program Policy. If you find any existing apps in your catalog that don’t comply, we ask that you unpublish the app, or fix and republish the app within 30 calendar days of receiving this email. After this period, existing apps discovered to be in violation may be subject to warning or removal from Google Play.
Thanks for partnering with us to deliver the world’s most innovative and trusted apps to over a billion Google Play users. We’re always looking for feedback, so please take a minute to check out the new site and tell us what you think!

The team and I broke 2 million total downloads from our 6 games today.

Feels great, I was so proud of my 50 downloads a day when my first game launched. Then my mind was blown when my second game got featured and got 16k in one day. My most recent game, Epic Flail got 80K downloads on its second day of feature in best new games last week.

Big thanks to the Stencyl team for making my dreams come true. Also a big shout out to all the people who have helped me and chatted to me over the last couple of years.

Really looking forward to the rest of this year making more games with stencyl.

It really gives me inspiration to create games when i see developments like this :)! Congratulations! how long did it take you and your team to develop all 6 games :)! are we talking within a year or much broader than that?

Its been awhile since I've touched this, but feel free to download the attached .stencyl file and it give it a go.

The grid-based movement follows the same methods used as seen on my blog's tutorial. As for setting paths, its basically a matter of each piece, barring the head, getting the location of the piece in front of it prior to any current movement (I think that's why you see "Old X" and "Old Y" values in there) and then moving into those positions.

Oh, you'll also need my 2D List Extension for it to work right and transfer some blocks appropriately.

Any chance of getting a link to this blog post? also do you do video guides?

This is quite interesting. I'm going to set up a section of the site where we'll organize these into one place. It's definitely a start.

I look forward to seeing this! I personally learn better through video tutorials supposed to online web guides!

The Indie Station is the king of stencyl vídeo content, and he's been kind enough to help me with a few specific problems i had. Search for him on youtube.

Your game sounds exactly like the kind of thing that stencyl can do, though i don't have any specific tricks to offer you. Look in stencylforge and the sample games for some templates.

Thanks alot for the response! :)! I will defiantly take the videos into consideration!

You can also click the youtube link below this post :)

Thanks tiger!

I will take a look at your videos thanks for posting here! :) would you take request videos by any chance?

Hi all so im extremely  new to the indie game scene how ever i have 2 years previous experience with games development at college.

I think im going to be purchasing stencyl and trying it out there in the mobile games industry however i have come here for some general tips and advice.

So on terms of making a game through stencyl i have none, i followed a few tutorials on this site however i find it much easier to learn through video tutorials im just wondering if anyone could kindly link me to a few with some basic tips and tricks for stencyl.

On terms of the game and information im looking for, im wanting to be creating a side scroller that will continue infinity but will randomly generate new terrain and objects to avoid maybe possibly have to fight.

The only examples i can really give are the classic helicopter game and the recent flabby birds, a few other good examples would be apps created by the company "Ketchapp" with there score based system and infinite terrain.

If anyone could help me with these things it would be most appreciated!

Many Thanks.
