The biggest glitch in your game is that I overshot the block that would take me to the next stage, and then the game didn't reset the level.

Try using an attribute for the enemy actor.
Make it so that the initial value of the attribute is the desired health, and a "hit" reduces health by however much damage. Then, make it so that if enemy health is less than 1, kill the enemy.
