Chit-Chat / Re: Has anyone ever failed a project?
« on: June 04, 2012, 07:40:21 pm »
Honestly in game design you'll fail more often than succeeding. But if you take a while to understand as to why you keep on failing, learn something from those mistakes, and to keep on improving what you have already started, I'm pretty sure you'll end up creating something great. And it will no longer matter how many times you have failed because the end result of it will be much sweeter and greater.

Chit-Chat / Re: What's your favorite game?
« on: May 17, 2012, 03:48:39 am »
Too many to mention but I'll describe one of my favorites...

Game: Shadow of the Colossus
Platform: PS2
Release Date: 2005
Director: Fumito Ueda
Developer: SCEI

This cult-classic, award winning game is one of a kind. Its not just about the graphics, not about the gameplay, not about innovation but rather all about the player experience. Imagine a game with no HUDs, no menus, no dialogues, no random battles, no towns or cities etc., but all about a unique and emotional story of a protagonist named Wander and his horse Agro, a cursed damsel in distress named Mono and 16 colossal giants that you need to defeat in a vast open world of epic fantasy. Truly a masterpiece and one of the most influential title in the video game industry.

River City Ransom for the NES. I really love and missed playing this old classic... who would have thought a non-linear, open world, beat em up with RPG elements game like this during the 80's? Such a great game!

Just to let you know, I installed 2.0 using the original installer and it did work for me, I'm using Windows 7, 32 bit, Professional Edition. Tried using this new .exe file, followed the instructions and was able to launch 2.0 again w/out any issues.

I suggest you read this book, here let me share it to all of you.

The Magic of Thinking Big

Feel free to download it and I hope in time you'll get your motivation back.

Here, let me just quote a wonderful phrase from the book:

"Belief works  this way.  Belief,  the  'Im-positive-I-can"  attitude, generates the power, skill, and energy needed to do. When you believe I-can-do-it, the how-to-do-it develops."

Just believe in yourself mate, you can do it. ;)
