I really need to read Stephen King, he's been on my TO-READ list far to long...

The best book that I've read recently was Haruki Murakami - Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. I don't even know how to describe it or what it is about, but it was great :)

Just read a brief summary of what it is and I still don't understand  :P Something about two parallel universes where one is a dream and the other has the world ending?

It sounds really interesting and so I ordered it.

Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. First time I got my mind blown by a book.

Every time I go the bookstore I see books from The Dark Tower series and am always about to pick it up but then decide not to. This has been going on for months. I love Stephen King so I am sure I will enjoy them.

There's so many great books out there and such little time in life to really read them all.

That is so sad but with advances in modern medicine I like to think that I should get at least an extra 20 years of book reading in.

Another idea that's interesting is merging a service like Chat Roulette with video games. A player logs in and is randomly connected with another player for voice chat. One of the players sees a simple game (think Wario-Ware type stuff - each lasts a few seconds) but cannot control it. The other player cannot see the game but does get to control it. Obviously the key here is that the player that can see the game must describe to the other player what he must do. If successful they both get points, the game changes and the roles of the players swap.

That is one of the coolest ideas I have ever heard.

1. Anything of the Discworld series.
2. Anything of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
and many, many more.
Agreed.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is, if not the best, definitely the funniest book I've ever read.

Ugh...Now I feel bad about my purchase today at the bookstore. I got "The Story of Psychology" instead of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Oh well. Maybe next time.

I was at the bookstore today and they were selling the whole series in one book for only $18.00. I have always wanted to read it.

1984. George Orwell. Especially apt in today's always connected society.

Since I am going to be a junior that is on my summer reading list

Just wondering what is the greatest book you have ever read. I am always looking to expand my collection.

It is hard to choose but if I were to pick the book that has most influenced me it would be "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey.

The best series for me has got to be Harry Potter.

Marvel Heroes. I'm playing it solely to level up characters so my young son can play it without danger of being beat :)

You should win father of the year.

I'm curious how one would go about making a terraria style game in stencyl. It's difficult working with tiles to make them as manipulateable as a game like that calls for.
Custom collision detection: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/13271

That's great. Other important things about terraria are the huge world and dynamically generated things complete with labrynths and dungeons. It's all a pretty tall order in stencyl -- I'm not saying it can't be done, maybe it can, but it sounds tough.

It sounds tough regardless if one is using Stencyl or not

Can I suggest that the negative responses are unnecessary.

If you don't like something that someone has posted, or think it's irrelevant, then just ignore it and let a moderator deal with it.

On a discussion board such as this, we have no idea how someone else is feeling, or what external influences they may have on their lives.

If he wants to spam then he is inviting criticism.
