Oops forgot to add that if i'm able to figure this out i'll try to upload a kit to stencylforge with the necessary behaviours so more people interested in making turn based games can use it as a base :)

Ask a Question / How to make a turn based game with stencyl?
« on: June 26, 2012, 10:21:27 am »
Hello everybody!

I'm a huge fan of turn based rpg games and i've been wondering if it's possible to make one with stencyl. I've asked a few people and they've said that it should be possible but i still don't understand how. I'm not very good at making behaviours or events, but i have made the story for the game and how it should play. For an example see videos of the facebook game Marvel Avengers: Alliance. Thats exactly how i want my gameplay to be without the counter class system. However i don't know how to make my characters do damage without collisions or how to give different characters different ability button.

Any help would be apprecated.

To be more specific: I want to learn how to make a behaviour so when i click an ability, i choose the enemy i want to use that ability on and after the ability is used it ends my turn.

A leveling system where you learn abilities every few levels and gain stats on each level up.

A stat system.

A class selection system where you change ur character's class to any learned classes. (change from warrior to wizard or w/e. each class has different abilities and different progress level)

An item system and a shop. (no weapons of any sort just items for recovery or inflicting damage to the opponent on use.)

All i want is some basic to intermediate knowledge on how to do this so i can learn and expand on it.

Most importantly the combat system! that's my main priority.

Thanks in advance! :)
