Ask a Question / Re: [Question] How to create a world

for the warehouse, you could use the pre-shipped behavior for its transition.
I think its is not possible to switch to other scenes without a transition effect.
Don't know if this will work but you can try the cross fade effect transition and make the transition time to 0.1

so in this paricular case may be recomended to create a huge world with multiples sub-scenes and create a new scene in the warehouse case.

i did not like that because i think it´s mucho more simplier to build separated scenes insted of a one big scene.

well thanks a lot man.

alright, then here is my idea.

make a new scene and mark it as the starting scene (the white part on your diagram)
When player collides with door to warehouse, > switch to new scene
when player collides with door to scene1,2 or 3. > then open the door on how you like it.
when the player collides with the door again from the warehouse > switch to the main scene(white part).

when my actor enters the warehouse i want a transition to the new scene (fade out or in) and biceversa.

when actors collides with the door to scene 1,2 or 3 i want the actor to enter to scene 1,2 or 3 but i want to make the impression that my actor is still in the same main scene.

so he can enter and leves the scene 1,2 or 3 to the main scene without have to change, or fade out or in.

is it possible to make that or you recomend me to create a fade in or out in each door collides?

yes, I still advise to separate those scenes. each area will surely have lots of actor inside that will dramatically decrease your game's performance.
now the question is how to connect all those scenes in order to simulate like it´s onle a one big world

its better to created lots of pieces to maintain great performance and you can categorize your areas.

lets think in this particular case:

I want the warehouse to be a hole new scene, where my actor can leve and enter with de fade out and in as normal.

but i want the scene1,2 and 3 to be a different area where my actor can enter and leves without having to be a new differente scene.

the question still is, it´s recomended to create lots of parts????

Did you really check the Stencylpedia? There's a lot of help.
But if you checked you can use region and game attributes and the switch scene block.

my question is if want to make a huge world what would be the best practice, to create one big scene or lots of pieces

my question is this:

i´d like to create a big world with lots of doors.

some of this door would be the access to new scenes but other doors would be the access to new other scenes BUT in the same scene.

in other words, one kind of doors would be the access to a hole new scene, but other doors only would be a pass throw.

the question is which would be the correct form to create the world.

to create a huge world in one scene or create lots of scences.

i hope you understand me, english is not my native language.
