Ask a Question / Re: Help drawing inventory
« on: February 23, 2020, 06:43:59 am »
Well I noticed that I had made a mistake with my actor "Icon Items" in the import of my animation .. I had imported them as frames and not as animations ..
I have to modify in the List Items List accordingly
But alas I always have an error when I open my inventory ..
However I am almost sure that my error comes from the block framed in red in my image but I cannot find the solution.

Code: [Select]

No it is scene 0 that I posted, I just increment the value of SceneEvent_X.png sorry for the confusion that this can bring

I think the error is in "if the inventory contains" ...

Good evening everyone !

I think I must be a desperate cause ...
These are the latest advances that are not conclusive.

The game starts well but when I open my inventory I have a message:

Code: [Select]
TypeError: Error #1009: You cannot access the property or method of a null object reference.
at MethodInfo-11037()[C:\Users\Cepu's Home\Stencyl\stencylworks\games-generated\Test Jeu v7\Source\scripts\SceneEvents_0.hx:252]

Otherwise can you tell me if I interpret my code correctly

When I press the "open inventory" button
If the bag is closed
Play a sound
Pass the state of the bag -> open
Create the PanelItems actor type at X: 80 Y: 50
Repeat the number of items in the "Items Position Display" list (So 4)
If the inventory contains the item 0 separate from / in the "inventory" list and that is true
So you create an actor type "Icon Items"
to X: next item 0 separated by "," from the "Items Position Display" list
to Y: at the next item 1 separated from "," from the "Items Position Display" list
Then change the animation element 1 separate from "," from the Items List "
Otherwise If the inventory contains the element 0 separated from / in the "inventory" list and it is false
So you create a type of actor "Icon Items" etc ...
Then change animation 0 (0 = empty "slots") of the last actor to create

Thank you very much for your patience and your help.

Sorry, I just have a little notion of vba because a few years ago I had just made a small program in Excel.

Otherwise I am completely a neophyte ..

Before copying I tried to get inspired by how you drew your objects in the debug mode of your "inventory" behavior

And yes I stupidly copy your code because I seemed to have understood how it worked .. but to see not quite ..

This is what I interpret from the Code _
"When drawing" if the bag is open you repeat all the positions that there are in Item list.
After if my character who has the inventory is alive and if has a value then you look in the inventory list for item 0 separated from /
Then you switch to the desired animation of actor Icon actor
And you draw it in the middle of the width and height of the "Inventory Panel" image

Ok I think it's good for this part.

Now if I understand correctly for "Menu Image" I create a block "set Menu Image to? image from actor ? During the event" When created "

Alas when I test I have an error

So here is what I did ..

I created the display list of the position of the article which I fed as you told me in "X, Y" format

I then created an actor and added images

0 = coconut
1 = Apple
2 = fish
etc ...

Then, I created the list of articles that I fed:

Coocnut, 0
Apple, 1
Fish, 2
etc ...

And finally I created the Icon Actor attribute for an actor

now the part I'm not sure I understood and well done ...

I placed these blocks in the "When drawing" event of my scene, is that correct?

For "Icon Actor" should I simply create a "Set Icon Actor" block in the "creation" event of my actor "icon"? Because I only found the block to create a type of actor.

Initial Diplay? Is this a list that contains the position of the menu window?

Used Inventory? Do I have to refer to "Saved Inventory Name" in the "Inventory" behavior that you created

Icons X and Y Offset I thought it was a list that worked the same way as "item position display" but no ...

So here I create a list for the positions, to start 2 row / 2 column

Sorry to be a ball on the other hand I did not understand which block to use to create image instances of the actor "Items" which will include all my objects and especially how to define its animation.

Could you show me a visual example please?

Ask a Question / Help drawing inventory
« on: February 13, 2020, 08:38:28 am »
Hello

So here I am trying to draw the objects that contain my inventory but the I do not really know how to do :S

Basically I would like the items in my inventory to appear as an image if my bag is open.
a bit like in the attached image except that I want to replace the slots with my personal images, to navigate in the inventory I would have liked to drag it.

Here are the codes I use to draw

Thank you in advance to those who will waste a little of their time for me!

Ask a Question / Face in dialog extension
« on: February 08, 2020, 03:37:35 am »
Hello everybody !

I'm coming to you because after following a tutorial on the dialog extension API (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYJh9tS0tws&t=399s) from TheIndieStation.
I do not understand what I could do wrong .. I am attaching my configuration to you.

On the attachment you can see the size of my image as well as where I placed it in the directory.
I assumed that the [ext] dialog folder was replaced by com.polydes.dialog? Is it fair?
File name: Face MonHeros

I was careful to leave a space after "Face " in the Face Image prefix.

And when I test the scene the text does not shift by one pixel on the right.

Do you have any idea what is not working?

And before I forget I did not understand how to insert in my dialog special characters like é è à

Thank you all
