Ask a Question / Re: How to make an actor roll down a hill
« on: April 14, 2012, 04:20:40 pm »
This is all it is right now. Still goes to the right. The only behavior on the rock is "Always Simulate." I'll try to keep playing with it, but for now I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Kinda funny, and a little bit frustrating at the same time...  ::)

Ask a Question / How to make an actor roll down a hill

Imagine: A circular stone rolls down a slope of tiles, and when it stops at the bottom it blocks the entrace to a cave, so you'd have to restart the level if you aren't quick enough. (This is what I want to happen.)

I have the stone's appearance set. A circular collision shape set. But for some reason, when I place it on the scene and test it, it automatically rolls to the right, even on a flat surface! There is absolutely no horizontal gravity, and have tried from scratch but still don't get the desired result. This seemed like it should've been easy - but for some reason it's not. Is there something simple I'm overlooking?

Thanks for the help! If I need to make my question clearer, just let me know. This is just really confusing!

If your game is playable as a web game, you're encouraged to publish it to Stencyl.com. Give me the link here, and I'll make a little mini-gallery for them.

Santa Roller is now playable online: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/10679
I hope you enjoy!

Nope! Which is really weird, so I have no idea what could cause this...

Ok cool! I got the main menu up and running (with some background music). But now for some reason it won't replace the original. Any ideas why?

Hey there, it's me again with yet another question...

Anyway I've got an update for one of my games and so far I've been able to publish the updates and replace the old one (to keep the stats and such). But now it's not asking me (in StencylWorks) if I want to replace it. Why? Thanks for the support.

I tried both of your solutions but they just don't work  :-\. Could it be that there is just too much going on in the scene? Let me try taking out the buttons and if that doesn't work maybe there's just something wrong with the whole scene itself. I copied it from Level 1 to look the same without much work, so maybe there's something wrong there? It seems I've tried so much already, but there's still sooo much to do! Oh well, I guess this stuff happens.

Yeah, it works perfectly fine locally in my Stencyl. And the only thing I used to switch my scene was a simple behavior like this:

Maybe it's too simple? I have no idea. Thanks!

I really need some help! I tried uploading my game to Stencyl, but whenever it's supposed to load to the main menu, it just freezes up the whole internet browser. I have no idea what's causing this! I cleaned up anything extra that wasn't being used in the scene, yet it still doesn't load!

Here it what it supposed to look like:

But it just ends up a black screen when launched. If you want to test it out to see exactly what happens, please do. Just be ready for a non-responding error.

Thanks for the help. If anyone can figure this out it'd be MUCH appreciated!
