Thanks for the honest feedback.
Many of the things you mentioned I did try to fix and even posted asking for help (top collisions, jumping right animations, missing player after death, random respawning, floating dog) I have honestly tried to fix these things but as I am not yet comfortable with coding (getting more comfortable and experimental with the snap feature though) I have found it to be very difficult. Each attempt would somehow leave the game so completely buggy that it wouldn't even launch & I would spend hours trying to undo or re-fix it so it would again launch. Over all I tried to rework level as best I could to avoid these problems. But yes, there are several flaws. I will most likely continue to work on this game for a while yet but in the mean time I am proud that it does work (for the most part).
I truly didn't mean for it to be taken seriously at all. It is just a fun add on for our geek themed wedding :) I've found the Stencyl program to be fun to try to use but I think it is still a bit out of the league of general hobbiests and is still designed for someone who is looking to go a bit more indepth than I have time to do.

I Just finished my first game!
Dan and I are getting Married November 27, 2013. I created this game as part of our wedding invitations for our friends and family. It's nothing special, just something for fun & works with our 8-bit/ video game theme. (This is my first try at making a game, so please be nice!)

Would anyone know how to burn the game to CD so it would launch when the CD is loaded?

Hmmm, I tried the second code each way suggested to write it. But, it does not make the character spawn back at Region 1 the way the first code did.

This is tricky... It really is perfect except for the fact it doubles my actor

Would you happen to have any idea why it is doubling my actor? When he respans there are now 2 with one following the other in perfect sync. I've been fiddling with the code a bit but can't figure out why he is multiplying

I checked my tileset and it has all the blocks set to solid blocks, but my actor will still randomly respawn within tile blocks. I've attached a photo of my character trapped within the green walls (blue area is where he should be)

As for my "fade out for 0 secs reload and fade in for 0 secs" I've added that in (or at least as close to it as I could get to work, as shown in picture)

I've been working on a short game as part of our wedding invitations as we are doing a geeky wedding. This is the first game I have ever worked on and so, while trying hard, I am very new to coding and have only tried making one event so far.
I have uploaded my game as it is currently to StencylForge (Action Dan). I have found work arounds to most every problem I've come up with so far. Except the random respawn of my Actor, often, within walls of my second level. 

Is there a way to make my walls solid so an actor cannot spawn within them or a way to make the scene reload completely back to the actors original spot?

I tried setting the fade to 0 but Dan is still respawning randomly in game. I uploaded the current version I'm working on now. (Title Change to: Action Dan)

I locked Dan to screen and altered the game map so it is still playable. The only issue I have let is the actor respawning randomly and ending up in the land blocks. Is there anyway to mark these as solid?

I'm trying to add the code below to the scene to force Dan to re-spawn at region 1

Any idea why it wouldn't work/what I am doing wrong?

Would you have any suggestions on how to make Dan re-spawn back where he began? Or prevent him from re-spawning within my terrain boxes?

So I shouldn't have "Dan" set as as "Group: Player" but should have him set as "Group: Actors" ?
Or is there a scene behavior I have not set/added to level 1?

Did you have any trouble with Dan getting stuck off screen and freezing when he would jump off screen?

I am very very new to this; I have been working only with the behaviours as is & have not worked with code or the drop & click feature yet.
My game is a pretty simple side scrolling 2D game as part of our wedding invitation. It contains 4 mini levels (basically intro scenes with doors) and 2 small levels.
Everything was going really really well until last night. I tested everything and it was working great. I added a few more columns to fit in my last door, saved and put my PC to sleep.

I booted up last night and and tried to run a test to go through everything and began getting errors. The jump and wall jump feature were not working. After fiddling with them for a bit I ended up spending an hour replacing the running/jumping on my actors with another behavior I downloaded. It worked well.

Next, when my actor would jump outside of the scene, he would freeze and I would have to reload the game. I fixed this by "locking actor to scene".
When I "locked the actor to scene" he no longer died in pits, he would freeze and I would have to reload.
I tried removing "locking actor to screen" and adding "die on leave screen" my actor resumed dying in pits but would again freeze when jumping off screen.
I read through the forms and added "always simulate" which works! -the first time. After the initial reload character would resume freezing off scene.


In addition, now when I try to test the game it loads well, the first 2 "Intro" mini levels load fine but the first full level is so slow and leggy that it is impossible to play.

If anyone can offer any insight into this I would be eternally grateful as I need to have our invites out ASAP.

tl:dr "Always simulate" only works one time. Game gets leggy on first full level.
